summary: On April 10, 1912, the second largest ocean liner in the Olympic class, undertook its first maiden voyage. The RMS Titanic, which in English was called Royal Mail Steamship Titanic, intended to control the business of transoceanic travel of the early twentieth century. The construction of the Titanic began on March 31, 1909 and was dropped into the sea on May 31, 1911, to finally enter service in 1912. This royal vessel was owned by the White Star Line travel line, built in Belfast, Ireland northern. Designed by Thomas Andrews for the Olympic class, which in its time stood out for the luxury, size and technical advances superior to those of the competition.
